In families with children and fulltime working parents, and where the man earns more than the woman, the women will provide twice as much child care and housekeeping as the man. But when the woman earns approximately the same as the man the woman’s housework and child care decreases. Amazingly when the woman earns more than her husband, even if he has not got a job, the more she earns the more housework she does. The acceptance of this social model puts the female in a pathetic negotiating position and countless women have eliminated the possibility of any work that would entail their partner to take on more obligations for the domestic issues of maintaining a home and child rearing.
